Taking A Break

So let's not talk about my fertility woes and IVF journey in this post eh? Cool. So last Friday DH and I went on a movie date and we watched Hunger Games. I've read the book, well the whole set actually and I absolutely loved it. So I really couldn't wait to watch the movie and see whether the movie lived up to all the buzz surrounding it. And I wasn't disappointed. I loved the movie. They really hit the bulls eye on the casting. I thought Jennifer Lawrence was perfect for the role of Katniss and Josh Hutcherson was awesome as Peeta. I didn't care much for Liam Hemsworth/Gale so let's not talk about him.

The story is basically set in the post-apocalyptic Panem where every year one boy and one girl from each of the 12 districts in Panem are chosen to compete in a televised battle where only one will emerge the victor. Basically it's kill or be killed. For those who have not read the book, like DH, the story may be a bit slow at times but those who have read the book will love it. I was happy that the movie stayed true to the book.

So if you're looking for something to watch this weekend, The Hunger Games is a good pick. I'm watching The Vow this Friday with my girlfriends. Has anyone seen it? Is it any good?

Much love
xoxo

  1. I have not read the books but am interested in seeing the Hunger Games. We will probably catch it next week. We have see The Vow and I really liked it. It is based on a true story, but a lot of the events in the movie didn't necessarily happen, but I did like it. I think hubby even liked it and he doesn't usually like chick flicks. :) Enjoy!
